DAY 0 [PRE-TRIP: SINGAPORE]

Learn how to transform your balcony garden into an extension of your pantry and kickstart your own urban farm from the comfort of your own home, however tiny!

    DaY 1 / TRAVELLING WEST

    • ARRIVAL in BALI
    • Travel overland through scenic mountains to the west
    • Settle in at the Scientific Education Resource Centre (SERC)
    • Enjoy a brief orientation and discussion with Sierra Sliverstone, Biosphere's Foundations Director of Agroforestry.

    Lunch and dinner provided.

    DAY 2 / DISCOVERING THE FOREST

    • Trek the Monsoon forest in Bali Barat National Park led by the head of a local community organization and experienced nature guide, Nono Suparno, and discover its vast diversity of species (difficulty level: easy trek for all fitness levels)
    • Visit the Bali's starling conversation centre and get a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the endangered birds and learn about the efforts to save this beloved national bird
    • Discussion and introduction to the Biosphere Foundation

    All meals provided.

    DAY 3 / The World Below 

    • Snorkel (all gear included). The snorkel trip will be led by Biosphere's research associate, Kitty Currier, a doctoral student from University of California, Santa Barbara who's studying Menjangan's coral reefs in the sacred island of Menjangan! (Dive option available at an extra cost of $210; total of 4 dives over Day 4)  
    • Check-in to Mimpi Resort
    • Led by Kitty Currier: Learn about Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and community participation in the quest to conserve Menjangan's coral reefs

    All meals provided.

    DAY 4 / HEad back to the Sea

    • Snorkeling and/or diving with Mimpi resort (at own expenses) – with the option of free and easy at Mimpi 
    • Closing Discussion 

    All meals provided.

    DAY 5 / Head for Home

    • Get yourself trinkets from Bali in the capital city of Denpasar (if time permits)
    • Goodbye Paradise!

    Breakfast and lunch provided.
