Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and resourceful Marketing & Business Development candidate to manage external communications, strengthen our brand presence, and build a sustainable pipeline of leads and partnerships. You will play a critical role in ensuring our work is seen, understood, and connected to the right partners, funders, and communities.
Job Role – What You Will Be Doing
Marketing & Communications
Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote Skillseed’s initiatives and programme outcomes
Manage Skillseed’s digital presence (with a focus on LinkedIn, our website, newsletter updates, and occasional use of other socials Instagram)
Craft compelling content (posts, stories, reports, case studies) that highlight impact and engage stakeholders
Track and analyse campaign performance to refine strategies for greater reach, resonance and responses
Business Development & Partnerships
Build, maintain, and cultivate a pipeline of leads with potential funders, partners, and collaborators with digital tools
Research and identify partnership opportunities aligned with Skillseed’s mission and our programmes’ objectives
Maintain strong, trust-based relationships with partners and stakeholders
Support proposal writing, pitch development, and client-facing materials to secure new opportunities
CRM & Relationship Management
Use CRM systems to track leads, manage follow-ups, and ensure timely communication with prospects
Establish systems to sustain long-term relationships with stakeholders, funders, and community partners
Keep meticulous records of interactions, opportunities, and partnership status
Cross-Team Collaboration
Work closely with the rest of the team to ensure marketing and business development efforts align with Skillseed’s vision
Contribute to reporting and storytelling by translating programmes’ progress and impact into communication pieces for stakeholders and funders
Job Requirements – What We Are Looking For
Professional Experience & Skills
Proven track record (minimally 2 years) in marketing, communications, or business development, ideally in the training industry
Familiarity with CRM platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Zoho) and ability to build and maintain a structured pipeline of leads
Strong proficiency with LinkedIn (posting, networking, analytics), email marketing, and experience managing brand presence across digital platforms
Excellent communication and writing skills — able to craft compelling content tailored to different audiences
Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of cultivating and sustaining partnerships
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight timelines
Mindset & Attributes
A self-starter who thrives on initiative, creativity, and ownership of outcomes
Strategic yet hands-on — equally comfortable developing plans and rolling up your sleeves to execute them
Empathetic, relational, and values-driven, with a passion for community impact
Meticulous in managing follow-ups and details, while also energised by the big-picture vision
Adaptable and resourceful in navigating ambiguity and evolving circumstances
Other Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
Comfortable with digital tools (Google Workspace, Canva, project management tools)
Excellent presentation, writing and networking skills
Availability for occasional evening/weekend events to engage with community activities (time-off will be provided)
Projected Start Date (Important!)

Contract Terms – A 2-year full-time contract with competitive remuneration (between $3.8k to $4.5k), commensurate with experience. At Skillseed we are in it for the long haul; likewise when we select teammates. There is therefore potential for renewal beyond 2 years based on company performance and mutual agreement
Work-Life Balance – Hybrid working arrangements (in-person and remote work), with 2 days WFH, 3 days WFO, and adjustable start/end times daily, with occasional evening/weekend commitments to engage with community activities (with Time-off provided)
Centrally located work venue on WFO days @Waterloo Centre
