About NE Learning Journeys
Learn about Total Defence and its six pillars, and learn how you can play your role as a citizen. Discover the various categories of assets under the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) framework, and how to map community and environmental assets to foster stronger Social, Psychological and Civil Defence in our society, and achieve the shared outcomes of Total Defence.
Our NE Learning Journeys are built to help participants identify and discover the gifts within and around them, leading to a greater appreciation of their community and Singapore.
We hope participants will discover their roles in Total Defence and how they can contribute as individuals to Singapore, especially during periods of crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic.
NE Learning Journey Themes
Ageing in Place
2 hours
Kampung Admiralty (KA) is Singapore’s first integrated vertical kampung designed specifically for the nation’s ageing population.
Explore KA and learn how urban infrastructures and facilities are designed to reflect the changing needs of society, either to pre-empt potential issues or solve the challenges of an ageing population. Engage in a conversation with a community member on their perceptions of KA, before concluding with a short debrief and reflection.
Sustainability
2 hours
Our Tampines Hub (OTH) is Singapore’s first and largest integrated community & lifestyle hub. It represents a new model of community-focused development.
Journey through OTH and learn how urban infrastructures and facilities are designed to reflect the changing needs of society, either to pre-empt potential challenges, or as a solution to address sustainability issues.
A short debrief and reflection will conclude the end of the learning journey.
