ABCD Foundations

FOUNDATIONAL
2-day workshop
For residents and community workers in the neighbourhood who wish to start or strengthen an initiative in a community they are part of.
The ABCD Foundations course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to take meaningful, collective action grounded in real relationships and local strengths.
Through interactive learning, case studies, and hands-on exercises, you will gain practical tools to discover individuals’ gifts, map diverse community assets, and learn directly from community initiatives in action.

This course takes a practice-driven, place-based focus, positioning communities as the unit of change and emphasising starting with what is strong, not what is wrong, as the foundation for sustained community development, from inside out.

ABCD Increasing Mastery

INTERMEDIATE
2-day workshop
ABCD is more than a shift in perspective—it is an ongoing discipline in ceding space and foregrounding community.
Rather than revisiting introductory concepts, this ABCD Increasing Mastery course offers a space to sharpen your judgment, facilitative capacity, and strategic impact.
For practitioners and community leaders already active in community work, and wish to move beyond introductory concepts, deepen their ABCD practice, and dive into the complex realities of sustainable, community-led power.
In this highly participatory space, you’ll leave better equipped to foster self-led processes with greater confidence and purpose.

ABCD Influencing Systems

Lasting community empowerment requires leadership alignment, and systems that enable it.
Branching out from direct community application, this ABCD Influencing Systems course offers a dedicated space to sharpen your executive judgment, governance capacity, and strategic impact.

Designed for organisational leaders and decision-makers, this intermediate tier equips you with the framework and language needed to embed asset-based thinking into policy, funding logic, and organisational strategy.
Through peer learning and strategic case studies, you will gain the practical frameworks needed to break down institutional silos, align policy with community reality, and back grassroots leadership with clarity.
