You do not need a reason to be good to others.”

Alex has called Ang Mo Kio home for 37 years, and his deep connection to the neighbourhood is evident in his memories, daily routines, and relationships with fellow residents and community organisations. As an avid walker, Alex has explored almost every nook and cranny of Ang Mo Kio and is well-versed in the lesser-known aspects of the area, including walking shortcuts and local businesses that contribute to residents' well-being. Today, Alex is a regular volunteer with Allkin @ Ang Mo Kio 414, where he supports the Community Hub’s ‘Food We Share’ programme. Alex is constantly seeking new volunteering opportunities as he finds great meaning in giving back. To him, being part of a larger community is like having a second family—where one need not be afraid to seek help.
