RT Guide Profile

Mohamed Mansoor

“One day at a time.”

  • Volunteer with Willing Hearts, running daily food distribution for the needy families in his community.

  • Community mobiliser who rallied local businesses to support food distributions

Mansoor has been a resident of Chong Pang for over four decades. He and his kampung in Sembawang as part of a government resettlement project and was among the earliest residents to move into one of the first few HDB blocks constructed in the area. Over the years, he has witnessed Chong Pang’s transformation from a developing housing estate into a thriving, close-knit community.

Throughout this journey, Mansoor has remained an active and dedicated member of the neighbourhood. He has seen firsthand the evolution of the community through numerous initiatives rolled out by the government and various charitable organisations to uplift and support residents. One such initiative is the food distribution programme for low-income families and vulnerable residents, launched during the COVID-19 pandemic. Supported by Willing Hearts, a local charity organisation, the programme continues to provide cooked meals and supplies to those in need—a cause close to Mansoor’s heart and one in which he continues to volunteer actively.

Mansoor draws deep inspiration from his late father, who served as a priest in a Masjid and embodied the values of service, compassion, and community care. His father’s unwavering commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on Mansoor, shaping his own sense of responsibility to give back. Guided by these principles, Mansoor remains committed to strengthening social ties and building a supportive environment for all.

His hope is that through continued collective effort, every resident in Chong Pang can enjoy a better quality of life and no one in the community has to struggle with food insecurity or be left behind.
