Asset Based Community Development Masterclass: Place-Based Animation

These terms and conditions are applicable to the Asset-based Community Development (ABCD) Masterclass workshop (“Workshop”) organised by Skillseed in partnership with Nurture Development, with support from The Majurity Trust. The Principal Trainer for this Workshop is Mr Cormac Russell, the Managing Director of Nurture Development. Participants for these workshops can be sponsored by his/her organisation (“Organisation”) or may choose to sign up as an individual (“Individual”).

By registering for this Workshop, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these terms of service.

1. Registration, Payment and Confirmation

1.1 Registration:

1.1.1 An individual is confirmed as a Participant in the workshop only after the individual has successfully submitted the payment of the full workshop fees and completed the participant registration form.

1.1.2 Individuals sponsored by their Organisation have the obligation to check with their organisation that any payment (or payment arrangements) has/have been made successfully before they are confirmed as Participants for the workshop. Individuals sponsored by their Organisation will need to complete the registration form individually before they are confirmed for the workshop.

1.1.3 Please ensure that all details are accurate, complete and up-to-date, as incorrect or incomplete information may affect your registration status.

1.2 Group Registration & Discount:

1.2.1 Organisations sponsoring 5 or more participants will receive a 10% discount on the programme fees.

1.2.2 This discount will be reflected in the invoice which will be emailed to the Organisation.

1.3 Fees, Payment & Confirmation

1.3.1 Once registration is confirmed in writing, an email with further instructions to make payment/prepare for payment arrangements will be sent to the respective stakeholders (including Finance representatives, should Individuals be sponsored by Organisations). Kindly note that once we announce that the course is confirmed and individuals confirm in writing that they wish to proceed with participation in the course, our cancellation policies will be in full effect, even if individuals have yet to fulfil payment for the course.

1.3.1.1 Individuals sponsored by Public Service Agencies will be billed via Vendors@Gov upon completion of the workshop, according to the Purchase Order (PO) issued by VITAL.

1.3.1.2 Individuals from NCSS/MSF funded organisations eligible for the Professional Capability Grant (PCG) will be notified latest by 3 June 2025 if Skillseed’s application as a pre-approved training provider is successful. Nett programme fees after grant subsidy will be invoiced to your Finance Representative of your organisation.

1.3.1.3 A group discount of 10% will be applied to organisations sponsoring 5 or more participants.

1.3.1.4 All fees due must be paid in full according to the deadlines indicated in your respective invoices, otherwise late charges may apply according to the Terms and Conditions in the invoice issued.

1.3.2 Fees are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are exclusive of prevailing Goods and Services Tax (GST).

1.3.3 A non-refundable administration fee of $40 (exclusive of GST) per participant has already been included in the programme fee. In the event of refunds, this administration fee will be deducted from the fees already paid.

2. Substitution, Cancellation and Refund

2.1 Cancellations by Participants & Refunds:

2.1.1 All requests for cancellations must be made in writing, via email to Skillseed, with the subject title: Request for Cancellation - Workshop name - Your Name.

2.1.2 Cancellations received 15 days or more from Workshop’s start date: 50% refund of the fees due will be made.

2.1.3 Cancellations received 14 days or less from Workshop’s start date: No refunds will be made.

2.2 There shall be no refund, partial or full, in the event that

2.2.1 The participant is unable to attend the full duration of the Workshop.

2.2.2 The participant decides not to utilize the meals, stationery or any other services included in the cost during the course of the Workshop.

2.3 Cancellations by Skillseed

2.3.1 In the event of cancellations by Skillseed, we will do our best to notify the participant as soon as practicable. Participants will receive a full refund of any fees paid. No deductions (e.g. admin fee) will be made on the fees refunded, if the cancellation is initiated by Skillseed.

2.4 Refund Process & Timeline:

2.4.1 We will process refunds 14 to 30 business days following approval of your cancellation.

2.4.2 Refunds will be credited to the original payment method, excluding any non-refundable costs such as administrative, late or platform processing fees.

2.4.3 Kindly note that some portions of the programme fee, such as administrative and platform processing fees, may not be refunded. These costs will be deducted from the refund amount, if applicable.

2.4.4 Participants who wish to inquire about the status of their refunds may write to hrf@skillseed.sg.

2.5 Substitution: If payment has been made successfully, the participant may transfer his/her slot to another individual, provided that:

2.5.1 The replacement is also from the same organisation. If the PCG grant subsidy is applicable, the replacement must also fulfil the eligibility criteria of the grant.

2.5.2 Skillseed has been informed of the change, via email, at least 3 working days before the workshop date.

2.5.3 The replacement has completed the participant registration form.

3. Programme Materials & IP

3.1 All the respective materials provided during the Workshop, including but not limited to presentation decks, printed materials, digital content, are the property of the respective owners for the purpose of this partnership between Nurture Development, Skillseed and The Majurity Trust. 

3.2 Restrictions on Use: Participants may only use the Workshop materials for personal learning purposes. Reproduction, distribution, organisational or commercial use of the materials, in whole or in part, is prohibited without the written consent of Skillseed and/or our Partners.

4. Confidentiality and Privacy

4.1 Skillseed will comply with all relevant obligations under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”) governing the collection, use, disclosure and care of your personal data in accordance with our privacy statement. We will only use your personal data for the purposes related to the Workshop, including post-Workshop follow-up, sharing of resources and marketing communications.

4.2 We may take photographs and videos of participants participating in our workshops or learning journeys for our advertising and publicity materials (e.g. course catalogue) and by joining our workshops or learning journeys, all participants shall be deemed to have consented to such collection and/or use on our part.

4.3 Notwithstanding, any participant who wishes to withdraw his or her consent to our collection or use of any photographs or videos that may feature such participants, may notify us at info@skillseed.sg, whereupon we will endeavour, as soon as reasonably practicable, to remove any reference to such participant from our advertising and publicity materials and/or related media programmes; provided always that we shall not be liable to recall or change any such materials or media programmes which have been produced, publicly distributed or disseminated by us prior to receiving such notice.

5. Workshop Changes Initiated by Skillseed

5.1 Skillseed shall make every effort possible to avoid changes in the programme. Should changes be necessary due to factors beyond the reasonable control of Skillseed including (but not limited to), third party provider changes, war, civil disorder, disease outbreaks, weather or local conditions, Skillseed shall be entitled to do so subject to notice being given as soon as possible.

5.2 Skillseed shall endeavour to substitute a suitable arrangement of similar standard, if practicable, and the Individual or the Organisation shall have no entitlement to compensation of any form.

6. Rights, Disclaimers and Indemnity Relating to Workshops

6.1 Without limiting any other provision of these Terms and Conditions, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be responsible or assume any liability to any participant for:

6.1.1 any injury, damage, loss or delay affecting any person or property not arising from Skillseed’s, Nurture Development’s and The Majurity Trust’s negligence or breach;

6.1.2 any loss, damage, cost, expense or delay suffered or incurred due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: (i) actions or omissions of third parties (including any applicable third party service providers); (ii) mechanical breakdowns; (iii) a Force Majeure Event; (iv) a failure by the participant to comply with any of his or her obligations hereunder; (vi) a failure by the participant to follow reasonable instructions.

6.1.3 To the fullest extent permitted by law, our maximum liability to any participant for any loss, damage, cost and/or expense shall in no event exceed the amount of the Programme / Workshop fare paid to and received by us in respect of such participant.

6.1.4 In no event shall we be liable for any punitive, special, indirect or consequential loss or damage, including loss of production, profit, revenue or contract or loss of or damage to goodwill or reputation.

6.2 The Organisation or the Individual agrees to indemnify us, our affiliates and our respective partners, trainers, facilitators, directors and employees, immediately on demand, against all claims, liabilities, damages, costs and expenses, including legal fees (on a full indemnity basis), arising out of any breach of these Terms and Conditions by the Organisation or the Individual.

7. Security, Safety & Accessibility Concerns

7.1 For the safety of all members of the Workshop, Skillseed, through its representative/s shall be empowered to manage any participant in an appropriate manner (including requiring the said participant to exercise restraint or leave the Workshop) if such a person should act or misbehave in a manner which is unreasonable, violent or detrimental to the enjoyment, interest and safety of the other participants. In such a situation, Skillseed shall not entertain any claims for refund or compensation.

7.2 We aim to work together with our partners to provide an inclusive and accessible workshop environment. If you have any special requirements beyond what you have already indicated in the registration form, please let us know in advance so that we can explore how we can accommodate your needs.

7.3 Reporting Misconduct: If you experience or witness any misconduct or have concerns about fellow participants, please notify a Skillseed staff member who will be present on-site, or email info@skillseed.sg. We will treat every incident report with the utmost confidentiality and respect.

7.4 Whistleblowing: All of Skillseed’s staff are expected to adhere to Skillseed’s Safeguarding Policy, which includes our Code of Conduct and Ethics towards all participants under our care. Should you have any concerns about any Skillseed staff member, please contact wilson@skillseed.sg. We will treat every incident report with the utmost confidentiality and respect.

8. Third Party Rights

8.1 For the purposes of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act and notwithstanding any other provisions set forth in this document, this Agreement is not intended to, and does not, give any person who is not a party to it, any right to enforce any of its provisions.

9. Claims & Dispute Resolution

9.1 Should the Individual or Organisation have any complaints, it is desirable that the same be notified to Skillseed immediately so that action/s may be taken to resolve the complaint expeditiously. The Individual or the Organisation’s complaint should be in writing (either by letter or email) and forwarded to Skillseed no later than 7 days upon completion of the Workshop.

10. Severability of Terms & Conditions

10.1 Each provision herein is intended to be separate and independent of the others and in the event should any of the provisions herein be determined or adjudged to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the validity, legality and enforceability of the remaining provisions herein shall be unimpaired and shall continue to apply.

11. Governing Law

11.1 This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and the parties expressly submit themselves to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
